Promised Land

With these paintings, my aim was to abstractly depict areas of land within the boundaries of the original land God promised to the Israelite's in the Bible. He commanded the Israelite's to go in and bravely conquer the land. And this is AFTER escaping 400 years of slavery in Egypt and 40 years of wandering in the desert. When two Israelite spies sneaked in to check out the land, they were filled with fear when they saw the people living in the land God was telling them to inhabit. BUT...God told them to go in and TAKE it and to be strong and courageous. It required them to take a faith step, just like God requires us to take risks and do things, even though sometimes we are terrified. SO...allow these paintings to serve as a reminder of the glory that awaits on the other side of stepping into the thing that scares you the most.
